Previous Work Experiences

Hello there! Long time no see! This post took me a while to do because I would personally say I don’t really have any previous work examples. I am in/at the beginning of my education and have not worked in any creative field yet, where I have had the opportunity to create. Now I have tried to gather 4 different examples of ”creative” projects I have done in the past.

Social media and taking photos on Bali
Like I mentioned in my post ”about me” I used to work at a surf-camp called Rapture on Bali for half a year. Here I had the opportunity to help out with their social media accounts, amongst other things. I used to post stuff on their feed and on their Instagram story. I also helped out with talking photos of the guest while surfing. This was a tricky task due to many factors. Most of the time it could be quite hard to catch them on the wave since the most of them where beginners. It was also hard because to the weather conditions, most of the times it was very hot and the lightning wasn’t always in my advantage. It could also be quite exhausting for the eyes since I could sit for hours sometimes. But it was fun!

Examples of how Rapture’s feed looked at the time, and the picture to the right is an example of what I used to post on their story
”Typical” photos that I could take of the guests

2 Creative Projects – first semester at Berghs School Of Communication
Before coming to Australia I did a ”foundation” semester at a school called Berghs School of Communication. If you want to work in the field of advertising and become an art director for example, this is the school to go to in Stockholm. I had 4 different units throughout my semester there.

Marketing Communication Unit
In one unit, we had an assessment where we had to develop a toilet paper and we would pretend that we would launch it on the market in Sweden. My idea was to make a ”scented toilet paper”. I thought it was a great idea, since scented toilet papers does not exist on the market yet, or at least not in Sweden. I wanted the packaging to be simple and represent a clean and fresh feeling. I ended up naming the toilet paper ”freshi”.

Here was my mood-board for the project & the final results

Visual communication Unit
Our final assessment in this unit was to create a ”music video”. We where supposed to make a video that represent our favorite visual artist, a quote we got and then add our favorite song. I choose Sigrid Hjerten, who’s old Swedish painter, I got the quote ”Nothing is worth more than laughter. It is a strength to laugh and to abandon oneself, to be light.” Then I choose the song ”Want you in my soul”. My idea was that I wanted the video to represent Sigrid Hjerten’s life. I got my inspiration from painting, ”Ateljéinterör”, it represents her being a female painter in at that time mans dominated art world. I want my movie to convey that she’s had enough. I interpreted my quote as, don’t take life too serious and have fun. I therefore chose to represent a person who’s happiness affects others. The song doesn’t have a purpose, I just found it good.

This was the final results. First time I have ever edited a movie

Creating an “advertising movie”
My final example is when I and some of my classmates got invited to go to Italy for a few days for free and create and ”advertising film” for the area we were going to go to. The area my group got was Castelmagno, which is almost by the boarder to Switzerland and France. Castelmagno is famous for their cheese which was the main feature in the movie we did. Here was the final results.

So here we have a few examples of previous work I have done in the past. I will hopefully have more after my time at ECU! Hope you enjoyed it!
